Rapid Coagulation and Sedimentation
The process of removing turbidity, sediment and Slurry circulation and harmful matters is termed at clarification.
There are Slurry Circulation and Solid Contact type.Normally, this constitutes the first stop in pretreatment system.
It is a system with 3kinds of processes namely Mixing, Coagulation and Sedimentation within a single basin.

Gravity Filters
There are "Valveless Type(VT)" and "Mono valve Type(MT)" of gravity filter.
The VT uses No valve while the MT is operating with a single control valves. Both types are designed to operate
automatically using the basic principle of pressure loss across the filter media.
The main system consists of backwash water storage tank, filtering chamber and filtered water collection chamber
and filtered water collection compartment. Raw water flow down through one or more layers of the filter media.
Solids and particles adhere to the media, clear water collects at the bottom.

The ion of raw water is exchanged with the mobile ion of ion exchange resin and at last the exchange capacity will
be exhausted. Then, in the regeneration by chemicals, it's called the counter-current regeneration, the method being
performed in the opposite directions of service water and chemical injection, and the co-current regeneration,
the method being performed in the same directions.

Condensate Polishing Demineralization
The steam generated in boiler is condensed through the place using the steam, supplied with the feed water to the boiler
again. This water is called the conden sed water(or condensate). It is contaminated by intermixing of impurities produced
in the process during the circulation of condensate, or of erosive products from structural materials, and by the cooling
water leakage of condensate loopsystem etc.. therefore, if the condensate is supplied to boiler, the treatment of
condensate is necessary, and so this is called the Condensating Polishing Demineralization system.

External Regeneration Method
This method is different from the internal regeneration which is demineralizing the water and regenerating the ion
exchange resin in the same ion exchange resin tower like the general single tower polisher.
This method is demineralizing in the demineralization tower and regenerating in the separate regeneration vessel.
Because the regeneration and the demineralization are operated in the different towers, their efficiencies are better
and the requirements of ion exchange resin are more economical.
Also there is no danger to flow the chemicals in the condensate system for regenerating in the separated vessels.

An understanding of this process can be illustrated from the below diagrams, "Osmosis" take place when water passes
from a less concentrated solution to amore concentrated solution through a semipermeable membrane.
There is a certain amount of potential energy of the water called "Osmotic Pressure" exists between the two solutions.
Water will flow because of this energy difference, less concentrated solution to the more concentrated solution until the
system is in equilibrium. "Reverse Osmosis" is defined as the separation of one component of a solution from another
component by means of pressure exerted on a semipermeable membrane.

The water only with H2O not contained impurities at all is called the theoretical pure water.
There is the resistivity as an index of the water purity, the resistivity of city water is about 0.005MΩ·cm (25°C)
and that of theoretical pure water is 18.25MΩ·cm(25°C). That of ultra-pure water using in the micro chip manufacture is
17MΩ·cm or more, and it is almost such the water as the theoretical pure water not contained the particles or bacteria.

Ultra filtration is a low pressure-driven mechanical process for separating and concentrating suspended solids,
colloids and high molecular weight materials in solution. Ultrafilration is based on porous membranes Particles larger
than the pore size of membranes are rejected. In particles even smaller particles are rejected because of the selectivity
of the filter cake (gel layer) on the membrane surface. Therefore ultrafiltration membranes form an absolute barrier for
bacteria and viruses including colloids and macromolecules.
